Project Overview

Dairy Crest Foston is a modern dairy opened in 2002 with a processing capacity of up to 100 million liters of milk per annum. To expend their processing capacity Tetra Pak UK was contracted by Dairy Crest Ltd to commission and install 2 x 100m3 Insulated and Jacketed Raw Milk Silos with agitators.
The tender to design, fabricate and deliver the silos to Dairy Crest was won by MGT under severe budgetary and time constraints.

Scope of Project:

  • Design, manufacture and testing of 2 x 100,000ltr Insulated, Jacketed and Agitated raw Milk Storage Silos
  • Insulation requirement to store milk at desired temperature during agitation of product
  • Design and fabrication of pressurized cooling jackets for milk silos
  • Design, fabrication and run in of suitable agitators for silos to ensure correct agitation of raw milk without product separation.
  • Exterior cladding of silos using “Plastisol” galvanized mild steel plastic coated profiled panels
  • Sea Shipment of 2 x 100,000ltr Milk Storage Silos and agitators from Israel to Felixstowe sea port UK
  • Customs clearance, overland delivery, offloading and ingress on site of Milk Storage Silos and agitators at client facility in Foston, UK
